This was a strange story to investigate – it began with a rumour I’d heard that two amateur hackers from somewhere in Eastern Europe had hacked into the financial giant Bloomberg’s computing system. I even heard whispers that the man himself, Michael Bloomberg was involved in their eventual arrest in some way. The police and intelligence services in the UK wouldn’t talk to me – so I ended up using my FBI contacts instead. They opened up the books and the story that fell out was stranger than fiction…
